Smith – Spring 04

Here is what the family looks like at the beginning of Spring

It is now time to play with our farmers family, the Smith. Let’s see what they are up to this Spring.

Here is a quick recap of what happened at the Smith’s during the Winter season :

Makoata came back from the maternity with Nakoma. She was very happy to return to her garden and was able to reopen her grocery store. The grocery is now a level 5 business.

Even though he is climbing up the ladder of the law enforcement career, Shaffer finds himself in some sort of midlife crisis. He cheated on his wife with his coworker Ratna Tse, while she was pregnant with Gatsby’s twins. No one knows for now if it’s just a phase, or if it will become something more serious.

Serena, who dreams of working in the politics career, managed to become friends with the Mayor Thomas Nook. She started working at the City Hall as an intern.

Nakoma grew up to a toddler and discovered two new traits: Excitable and Light Sleeper.

And now, onto the Spring round!

Day 1, Monday

Everyone is getting up on the right feet for the first day of the year.

Nakoma wakes up like a big girl,

and takes care of her business.

Now she only has to learn how to walk before she can be enrolled to the daycare.

Talk about irony

Makoata wanted to cook a nice breakfast, but the fridge is empty!

But since she owns the grocery store, she can just refill it from her own pockets. Fortunately, her inventory is still full from the last harvest.

At the maternity, the midwife Katara Waterson recommended her to give Nakoma Smart Milk, especially during her first days as a toddler when she needs to learn the basic skills.

Makoata follows her instructions to the T.

Nakoma is a bit suspicious about the glowing bottle

But it tastes so good that she sips it down even before Makoata can attack her cereals.

Priest Jellal found the door unlocked and made himself at home (even though he barely knows any of the Smith…)

He doesn’t have video games like this is at the vicarage!

Makaota brings Nakoma to the garden to teach her how to walk.

She is convinced that being out in an open space will help her learn quicker. This trick worked with Serena back then.

But every baby is different, it seems.

Nakoma made her first very clumsy steps!

She still can’t walk on her own yet, but Makoata is very proud of her progress.

Yes, priest Jellal is still inside the house.

After finishing his game, he went upstairs and found his way to Serena’s keyboard.

That’s just to much.

Priest or not, Makoata politely shows him the way out.

Makoata: Idiot…

Serena comes home from school to drop her homework,

and immediately leaves to her internship.

After her exercise in the garden, Nakoma finds herself in a creative mood.

Since the little one is busy, Makoata returns to the garden to fertilize the soil.

Shaffer will soon be home from work anyway to look after Nakoma.

After coming back home from her internship, Serena still needs to do her homework.

But her busy schedule is starting to take a toll on her, she has no time to relax during the day!

New skill points are always nice!

Seriously, you could have picked another spot…

After the girls went to bed, Shaffer and Makoata find their own way of relaxing together… in Serena’s old bedroom.

Day 2, Tuesday

Shaffer is up early and fixes a nice breakfast for his little family.

Fun fact: Shaffer is one of the few males in Simmerley who can cook… and better than his wife at that.

Who’s hungry?

Serena cuddles and plays with her sister before school.

How cure are they together? ^_^

After Shaffer and Serena left the house, Makoata continued to teach Nakoma how to walk in her room.

And she got it this time!

Makoata is so happy, she won’t have to bend her back so much anymore.

Since she got promoted, Serena is confronted with more and more responsibilities at her intership. But she is not afraid of hardwork, and she is willing to do everything she can to prove her competence.

So, of course, she decides to answer the questions herself. She can already picture the Mayor being so proud of her!

Or not.

Poor Serena, she thought she was doing so well. But in the realm of politics, any mistake can be fatal.

Serena: I worked to hard for this spot, and this is what I get? It’s so unfair!

The wolves like to roam around the farm garden, but they don’t like much bumping into each other.

Arya Caragne, who was just passing by, is disgusted by the violent nature of the wolf world. (Hey, she is a witch afterall)

And today’s winner is Mr Boots!

(Seriously, the game named him that, it’s not me)

It’s dinner time and Nakoma is HANGRY!

Shaffer quickly whips up a salad with some fresh vegetables from the garden, and he mixes a portion specially for Nakoma.

Here, little monster.

Are you happy now?

I don’t exactly remember how all of these people got into the house, but at least Shaffer prepared enough salad for anybody.

Arya came in after witnessing the very traumatic wolf fight, and her father Rowan Caragne probably went to check up on her and then forgot and ended up staying for dinner.

Ratna Tse came back from work with Shaffer (even though she is supposed to be at the maternity with her twins right now)

Tina Kimbrell, another fellow police officer and manager of the prison, is also here in the living room, because… who knows?

Makoata is tired of seeing her house invaded, so she wishes everyone goodnight.

Day 3, Wednesday

That’s cool, but nobody really cares in this house…

Shaffer is already up, happily playing on Serena’s keyboard.

Even though she is just here, trying to finish her homework.

Nakoma definitely inherited her creative side from her daddy.

But she doesn’t have time to play for long, since she has to attend daycare starting from today!

Serena may have suffered a setback, but her determination is untouched.

She decides to re-enroll for an intership, even though she has to start back at the bottom of the ladder.

Now that Makoata is at home alone, she has a lot more time to tend to her garden.

The last harvest still needs to be packed into crates, before the produce can be sold at the store.

Shaffer is back from work, with Ratna again…

But he also brought back Nakoma from the daycare, and it’s time for her bath!

And Nakoma just discovered her favourite hobby, she is a little gamer!

There is no way Serena would remained seated in a dance party, even without music!

Nice!

It may be late, but the harvest doesn’t wait!

Ratna is conquered by Nakoma’s cuteness and starts to play with her.

(Anything that keeps her away for Shaffer is good)

But they still managed to sneak out a goodbye kiss at the back door.

Day 4, Thursday

Good morning!

Don’t be fooled, they’re making the bed only because…

Hm… See?

No Nakoma, don’t walk in now!

Escape!

Escape now!

After potentially traumatizing their daughter for life, Makoata returns to her garden and Shaffer drops her at the daycare before heading to work.

Yay Serena!

It’s hard to believe that she used to struggled so much with school during her childhood.

But good grades require constant effort.

Since she has a day off from her intership, she visits the town’s library to study a little more, away from distractions.

But it turns out that the place is already super busy.

Serena bumps into Arya and her mother Olivia, the first lady Kinuyo Nook, and she even greets the High school principal Sue Sylvester.

However, she didn’t come here to socialize. Onto the homework!

Back at home, Makoata notices that one of the water sprinklers in the greenhouse broke down. Since Shaffer is still a work, she decides to try to fix it herself.

It can’t be that complicated!

Wait… why is the leak getting bigger now?

It might have been wiser to wait for him after all….

Shaffer still insists on coming home everyday with his mistress, even though they can’t do anything with Makoata and the girls around.

Perhaps he is trying to make her understand that he is happy with his family, but Ratna has not tried anything since that night.

Or maybe it’s just an ego boost for him?

But she didn’t stay to come in the house today anyway.

Nakoma is turning into a litte virtuoso. ^_^

Makoata feels very cuddly today.

Maybe her affection can bring Shaffer back to his senses?

Serena is back from the library.

She practices her piano skills a little bit.

Tonight Makoata takes care of her little princess.

The garden requires so much of her attention, she feels like she barely has time to play with her daughter.

Meanwhile, Shaffer has to repair the still-leaking springler, and fix the mess Makoata made.

Day 5, Friday

The day starts with a hug. ^_^

Today, Makoata heads to the grocery store.

The new harvest is ready to be sold!

We are open for business!

Seriously, this store is my favorite in the entire town. There is something so relaxing about the green theme, and the scenery by the windows is just beautiful.

Urey Rockbell, the CEO of the local powerplant, is the first customer to appear.

He heads up straight to the pumpkin corner.

We’re only in Spring right now, but hey it’s never to early to prepare for Spooky day, right?!

The town’s critique Alec Melon also shows up, as he does every single time.

Hopefully, he won’t give Makoata a bad review today.

Next is Kinuyo Nook, looking completely lost.

Kinuyo: I swear the organisation was different the last time I came here!

Dr. Sara Rockbell comes for a quick shop during her lunch break, when she notices her husband is already here.

Had she known, she wouldn’t have bother to come all the way here! But come to think of it, he probably forgot what she asked him to buy in the first place…

Makoata presents her the new organic honey that she sells.

Her exposé was so brilliant that even Alec is enthusiastic!

Look at his face!

But wait, who is it casually strolling by in broad daylight?!

Here is Berjes Custer

Since Ratna Tse served her time in prison and redeemed herself as a respectable resident, Berjes took advantage of this opportunity to become the new burglar in town.

He hasn’t broken into anyone’s house yet, for now he is taking his time studying the neighbourhood. Berjes doesn’t want to be miserably caught like Ratna, oh no, he is much more careful.

First, he will try to blend in, like a normal resident, to avoid any suspicious.

Criminals also have to eat!

And so like a normal resident, he enters the shop to have a look a the mouth-watering zucchinis.

Noboy pays attention to him, so he is free to eavesdrop all he wants.

Rowan Caragne, the town’s firefighter, is on a mission to buy eggplants, but can’t find where they are exposed for the love of the Watcher.

Alec Melon has been around the shop so much that Makoata and him became besties!

But still no good review today, eh?

Berjes ended buying the zucchinis he’s been eyeing for so long.

They do look delicious after all!

Jay Gastby is the last customer to be served today.

Makoata closes the store, but doing the inventory takes her so long that she end up staying after dark.

Meanwhile at home, Serena calls up her mentor, Thomas Nook and they become best friends!

Thomas is very happy with her, even though she made a few mistakes. He reassures her that her hardwork doesn’t go unnoticed.

After Serena leaves for her internship, Shaffer is alone with Nakoma.

Nakoma just loves playing with her dad!

Serena earned back her position as a Campaign Worker!

She will make sure to not mess up this time.

And this is how we wrap the Spring round at the Smith’s.

Next, we will play with the Caragne family.

Thank you for reading!
